Blinds are a very frequently used term in flop style poker games. There are usually two types of blinds the big blind and the small blind. The small blind is made by placing a certain amount of custom poker chips by the player seated immediately left of the dealer button who is considered to be the first player of the game. The big blind is placed by the player seated left of the small blind and the player seated left of the big blind is the first to act by raising, calling or folding. The big blind is usually double the small blind.

The big blind is placed to denote the minimum bet and it acts as minimum cost that should be incurred by the players to enter the pot. Hence a minimum amount of custom chips should be staked in poker games where there is a blind. The big blind is placed according to the small blind and is usually double the small blind for instance if a player places about 2 dollar as small blind then the big blind would be about 4 dollars.
